Melamchi Water Supply Project looking for alternative water sources

Kathmandu, May 28 The Melamchi Water Supply Project has started to look for alternative water sources for the project. The project, with consultants from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), has started searching for new water sources. The project is planning to construct the new headwork for the project in a geographically less challenging place. A massive flood in June 2021 severely damaged the infrastructure of the Melamchi project. Rajendra Pant, the director and spokesperson of the Melamchi Water Supply Development Committee, says that an ADB team is looking for a new water source and is working on the design based on it. “We are looking for a water source in a place higher than the current one.
