Judge Bhuwan Giri arrested on the marital rape charge
File: District judge Bhuwan Giri Kathmandu, April 12 A police team in Kathmandu arrested a former judge of the Kapilvastu District Court, Bhuwan Giri, based on a complaint of marital rape filed by his wife. DSP Pawan Bhattarai of the District Police Range, Kathmandu, says a team deployed from the range arrested him on Tuesday afternoon. Judge Giri had recently been transferred to the Judicial Council from the court . Earlier, Giri’s wife had filed a marital rape complaint against him at the Kapilvastu District Police Office. Just a few days ago, the District Court issued an arrest warrant as per the DPO’s request.
