Judge Bhuwan Giri arrested on the marital rape charge

Kathmandu, April 12

A police team in Kathmandu arrested a former judge of the Kapilvastu District Court, Bhuwan Giri, based on a complaint of marital rape filed by his wife.

DSP Pawan Bhattarai of the District Police Range, Kathmandu, says a team deployed from the range arrested him on Tuesday afternoon.

Judge Giri had recently been transferred to the Judicial Council from the court.

Earlier, Giri’s wife had filed a marital rape complaint against him at the Kapilvastu District Police Office. Just a few days ago, the District Court issued an arrest warrant as per the DPO’s request.

EVs steal the show at NADA Auto Show 2023

The auto expo, which started on Monday, has a wide range of electric vehicles with around 60 per cent of its stall being taken up by EVs.
