Kathmandu’s Ranipokhari is open to the public free of cost from now onwards
Kathmandu, March 24
The Kathmandu metropolitan city says the historic Ranipokhari is open to the public free of cost from now onwards.
This is the first time that the historic pond has been open to the public for visits following its long reconstruction process after the 2015 earthquake damage.
The city government spokesperson Nabin Mananghar says the city was making efforts to open the pond to the public for a long time, and it has been successful now.
The pond was damaged by the Gorkha earthquake of 2015. The National Reconstruction Authority completed the reconstruction in five years.
