A child drowned in a stream while taking a bath in Tulsipur sub-metropolitan city-17 of the Dang district on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as local Basanta Bohara (10), who was taking a bath in the local Hapurkhola, Baghausi.

He was found unconscious there and rushed to the Rapti Provincial Hospital, Tuslipur, where he died during treatment, according to DSP Pushpa Raj Malla.

Of late, children drowning has become a regular affair in Nepal due to the lack of safety measures, insufficient recognition of the problem, and children’s inability to swim among other reasons.

The auto expo, which started on Monday, has a wide range of electric vehicles with around 60 per cent of its stall being taken up by EVs.
