Makawanpur ward chair caught with marijuana

Hetauda, May 1

Shiva Raj Thing, the chairperson of Thaha municipality-7 in Makawanpur district, has been arrested in possession of marijuana.

Narcotics Control Bureau arrested Shiva Raj Thing and two others on Monday, informed DSP Tek Bahadur Karki of the District Police Office. The two others arrested are Bhim Bahadur Thing and Indra Bahadur Thing.

They were arrested with 175 kilograms of marijuana.

The police said that the three have been arrested and are being held at the local police station in Palung as further investigation is underway.

The arrest comes at a time when the government is trying to open doors to legalising marijuana for medicinal purposes in the country.

EVs steal the show at NADA Auto Show 2023

The auto expo, which started on Monday, has a wide range of electric vehicles with around 60 per cent of its stall being taken up by EVs. Brands including BYD , MG , Neta and Wuling have only exhibited electric vehicles. Some importers have given preference to electric vehicles over the company’s petrol/diesel vehicles.
