Kathmandu, June 13

Two people died after drowning in Man Khola in Khajura rural municipality of Banke on Monday.

Police Inspector Sujan Bikram Shah of the District Police Office, Banke, said Lakshmi Dangi, 17, and Kiran Nepali, 7, of the municipality drowned in the river.

Similarly, Krishna Subedi, 30, died while swimming in the Arun Khola in Nawalparasi on Monday.

With the rising temperatures, drowning cases are on the rise in the southern belt of the country.

EVs steal the show at NADA Auto Show 2023

The auto expo, which started on Monday, has a wide range of electric vehicles with around 60 per cent of its stall being taken up by EVs. Brands including BYD , MG , Neta and Wuling have only exhibited electric vehicles. Some importers have given preference to electric vehicles over the company’s petrol/diesel vehicles. Tata , Hyundai , Kia , Great Wall Motors , Nissan and other brands have put both petroleum and electric vehicles on display.
