Kathmandu, July 17

With the introduction of an automatic price system (APS) for petroleum products, the government has also reduced the fare of public transport. The implementation of the APS reduced the fair of both petrol and diesel by Rs 6 and Rs 4 respectively.

After the implementation of the APS reduced the price of diesel and petrol, the Department of Transport Management adjusted the fare.

Based on that, the department has reduced the fare on public vehicles by 2.13 per cent.

Director General Narayan Prasad Bhattarai said that the fares for freight transport decreased by 2.78 per cent in the hills and 3.09 per cent in the Terai.

“This will be implemented from today. We have asked traffic police to see if it has been implemented,” said Minister for Transport and Physical Infrastructure Prakash Jwala.
