1 arrested for violating Gaushala-26’s privacy

Kathmandu, January 18

The Cyber Bureau of Nepal Police has arrested a man on the charge of violating the privacy of Gaushala-26.

Based on a complaint filed by Gaushala-26, the police arrested 32-year-old Kesharman Rai of Sankhuwasabha on the charge of violation of privacy.

Rai was arrested today with the help of the Sankhuwasabha Police and brought to Kathmandu, said Chief of the Bureau SSP Navinda Aryal. He has been remanded to judicial custody by the Kathmandu district court.

Gaushala-26 had filed a complaint at the Bureau demanding action against those involved in making her identity including a photo public on social media.

National cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane was convicted of raping Gaushala-26.

The Kathmandu District Court sentenced Lamichhanne to eight years in prison along with a fine of Rs 500,000 to be paid as compensation to the rape survivor.
